Privacy Policy
How Ana Trips uses your data and what rights you have. Last updated: 6 November 2026.
1. Who we are
Ana Trips (“we”, “us”) runs the travel guide website anatrips.com (the “Site”). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected]. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy rules.
2. What personal data we collect and why
2.1 Usage data and analytics
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Site Kit, to see how the Site is used: pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location, device and browser. Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
2.2 Technical and security data
Our hosting provider and security tools log your IP address, browser type and request details to keep the Site running and to block abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
2.3 Messages you send us
If you email us, we use your name, email address and message to reply. We keep messages for up to 24 months after our last contact. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take before an agreement (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b)).
2.4 Cookie choices
We store your cookie choices so that we can respect them. Our consent tool keeps this record for up to 12 months.
2.5 Location for flight links
If you allow “Preferences” cookies in our cookie banner, the map on the home page looks up your approximate location from your IP address, using the GeoJS service (geojs.io), to suggest the nearest departure airport for flight links. Your IP address is sent to GeoJS for this lookup. We keep only the resulting latitude and longitude, in your browser’s session storage, and delete it when you close the tab or withdraw consent. We never store it on our servers. Without your consent we make no such request and flight links are not tied to a departure airport. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
2.6 Comments and accounts
The Site does not currently offer comments, user accounts or a newsletter. If we add them, we will update this policy first.
3. Cookies
We use necessary cookies, which are always on, and optional analytics and marketing cookies, which load only after you consent. See our Cookie Policy for the list. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings button on the Site, and you can block cookies in your browser.
4. Affiliate links and partners
4.1 How affiliate links work
Some links on the Site are affiliate links. When you click one, the partner or the affiliate network sets a cookie so that a booking can be credited to us. We may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
4.2 Affiliate programs
We take part in affiliate programs, including through CJ Affiliate and Stay22, with partners for accommodation, flights, tours and travel insurance. The partners and networks may change over time.
4.3 Partners are separate controllers
Once you leave the Site, the partner’s own privacy policy applies, and the partner decides how it uses your data. We do not receive your booking details or payment data. We only see aggregated reports of clicks and commissions.
5. Advertising and sponsored content
We do not currently show third-party display ads and we do not run retargeting. If a page is sponsored, we say so on the page. If a sponsor uses a tracking pixel, it is loaded only after you consent, and we will list it in the Cookie Policy.
6. Embedded content from other websites
If we embed a video, map or other content from another site, it behaves as if you had visited that site. That site may set cookies, collect data and track how you interact with the content. We load such embeds only after consent where the law requires it.
7. Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Site: hosting, Google (Analytics and Search Console), our cookie consent provider, our email provider and, only if you allow Preferences cookies, GeoJS (IP-based location lookup). They process data on our instructions or under their own terms. We do not sell personal data.
8. International transfers
Some providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens we rely on an adequacy decision, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. How long we keep data
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Messages to [email protected]: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Cookie consent records: up to 12 months.
- Approximate location for the departure airport: only in your browser session, never on our servers.
- Records we must keep by law, such as accounting records: as long as the law requires.
10. Your rights
You can ask us to give you access to your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing. To use a right, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
11. Children
The Site is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Site.
